It is an amazing honor to be one of the recipients of the inaugural George Eastman/Power of the Image Award in Beijing, China, along with several others, including Sylvia Plachy, Eddie Soloway, Matthew Jordan Smith, Steve McCurry, Lauren Greenfield, Gerd Ludwig, Pep Bonet and Jocelyn Bain Hogg.
Thanks to Saint John’s University for putting on such a great reception event for my exhibition “A Mid-Career Retrospective.”
Very excited to be hanging a show at my alma mater, Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. The exhibition, at the Saint John’s Art Center, is open to the public on February 1st and the opening reception and gallery talk will be on March 1st from 5-8pm.
It was a wonderful time in Bangor, Maine, where where the University of Maine Museum of Art opened an exhibition of my series, “Dog Run.” Thank you to George Kinghorn and UMMA.

The Verve Gallery of Photography presented Michael Crouser’s series “Sin Tiempo” in conjunction with exhibitions by Susan Burnstine and Douglas Etheridge. The Minneapolis Photo Center presented “Michael Crouser: A Mid-Career Retrospective”, an exhibition featuring four distinct series from the last twenty-five years. The exhibition traveled to Minnesota from Leica Gallery in New York, where it was on display this winter. The MPC is located at 2400 North 2nd St. in Minneapolis.
Leica Gallery, at 670 Broadway in Manhattan, has presented the exhibition “Michael Crouser: A Mid-Career Retrospective” from January 13 – February 25. The opening reception was Thursday January 12th from 6-8pm. The show included selections from four distinct photographic series made over the past 25 years.
The Verve Gallery of Photography will be showing Michael’s new series “Sin Tiempo” alongside the work of Susan Burnstine and Douglas Ethridge from August 31-October 20, 2012. Click Here >

DOG RUN, the new black and white monograph by Michael Crouser was recently awarded third place in the International Photography Awards, in the category of Fine Art Book. It is the second consecutive year Crouser has placed in this category, with his previous book LOS TOROS capturing a first prize in 2008.

Michael’s second monograph, DOG RUN, has been released by Viking Studio. For more information visit www.dogrunbook.com. Gallery FCB in Manhattan will feature an exhibit of 21 prints from the book, which William Wegman has called “a remarkable, unforgettable collection of photographs”. All images in DOG RUN were shot on Kodak Professional Tri-X Film.
Farmani Gallery to Host LOS TOROS. The Farmani Gallery’s new location in Brooklyn, NY will exhibit a selection of 30 prints from Michael Crouser’s award-winning monograph LOS TOROS (Twin Palms 2007), with an opening reception on Thursday November 6.
Michael Crouser’s book LOS TOROS (Twin Palms 2007) was awarded 1st Prize at the International Photography Awards in the category of Fine Art Book. His series “Dog Run” also won a 1st Prize in the special professional category of “Animals”.
Communication Arts honors Michael Crouser’s LOS TOROS as one of the eight top photography books of 2007.
